Uniform Caps or other than the normal Blue Cap. Who are they and what does it mean?
On Legionnaires, you may see a variety of caps.
These include the following:.
Solid Blue Cap with ROSEDALE embroiled on it - worn by most Post members
Solid Blue Cap with white piping and BALTIMORE COUNTY (BC) embroiled
Solid Blue Cap with white crown and NORTHERN CENTRAL DISTRICT (NCD) embroiled on it -
worn by Commander NCD
Solid White Cap with MARYLAND embroiled on it- worn by Department Officer or Member of the Department's Executive Committee (DEC)
Solid Red Cap with MARYLAND embroiled on it- worn by National Officer or Member of the National Executive Committee

A Blue cap may be purchased from the American Legion Emblem Sales
1 (888) - 4LEGION or Online at www.emblem.legion.org by any Post member whose dues is paid up to date. It may also be purchased by a family member as a gift for a Legionnaire.

White Hat (DEC) members for Parkville Post #183 are elected at the Post's Caucus held in June by our Delegates to the State's Convention in Ocean City. We are allowed 1 White Hat for every 500 registered Post members.
White Hats are required to attend five BC meetings, held in the County; five NCD meetings, held somewhere in the District; and five DEC meetings, held throughout the State.
